Mission statement
Bringing together and objectively supporting Dutch plastic processors from small and medium enterprises with respect to the following four points:

• Technology and innovation: cost management and innovation of production technology and products are central points.
• Market development: trends in the plastics industry - with respect to both customers and suppliers - are presented regularly. 
• Operational management: concrete support of operational management on a wide range of subjects.
• Networking: provision of facilities bringing various parties together and promotion of cooperation between fellow members.

Target group
PVT activities are intended for the associated member companies. Although they use different production technologies, members all have thermoplastics processing in common. PVT is thus a representative party, looking after the interests of plastic processors in the Netherlands. 

One can consider PVT member companies medium-size and small businesses. The trade association also reflects the plastics industry well in this aspect: about 80 to 90% of the companies within the industry have fewer than 50 employees.

Activities
1. Cluster approach
Thermoplastic processors are engaged in a wide range of activities, not only as far as production technology is concerned, but also regarding the markets they serve. PVT members are divided into clusters in order to be able to offer goal-oriented activities. The approach is largely the same for each cluster, such as the organisation of directors meetings, transfer of knowledge and presentation of market developments.

2. Promotional activities
The trade association regularly organises promotional activities to focus attention on PVT members. To this end, PVT organises direct mailing actions, brochure material, a suppliers guide and, of course, presentation of the PVT and its members at various (plastic) events. 

3. Services
The PVT provides tangible support for operational management of the member companies. A brief summary: strategy definition, transfer of knowledge, benchmarking, delivery and purchasing conditions, help desk, plastics & rubber magazine.

4. Lobby
The PVT is associated with the rubber and plastics industry umbrella organisation, the NRK Federation. Regular PVT members are therefore also members of the Federation. PVT looks after the interests of the plastic processors within the NRK ranks.
